Target audience:

The training is intended for personnel who, as flight crew (‘cockpit’ crew members), are responsible for the planning, loading and transport of hazardous substances on board aircraft, i.e. the pilot in command and the loadmasters on board. The training is in accordance with IATA DGR – section 1.5 and in accordance with feature 7.7 in IATA Dangerous Goods Training Guidance.

The training was previously part of the DG training Category 10. The Cat 10 is divided into 7.6 load planners and load master on the ground, 7.7 flight crew and load master on board, 7.8 flight operations and flight dispatchers.

The main topics covered during this course are:

  • the basic concepts of the transport of dangerous goods by air;
  • recognizing dangerous goods (tags and labelling);
  • management of dangerous goods before and during the flight;
  • knowledge of the content and interpretation of the Notification to Captain (the NOTOC)

IATA category: 7.7.

Duration of the training: Average 1.5 hours

Admission requirements: this course has no admission requirements, other than a reasonable command of the Dutch language.

The price for this training is €95 excl. VAT per person. After successfully completing the training, the student will receive a certificate.

Valid for: 24 months.

This training was developed by PMT and based on the training requirements of the ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air and the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

PMT is a training and examination institute recognized by the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). PMT is also certified by IATA as a Competency Based Training and Assessment provider.
